Welcome to SF Central Otago

Providing Mental Health Support to the Communities of Central Otago and Wakatipu.

We are a local charity dedicated to providing "the best possible support for people with mental illness/addiction issues and their family/whanau". Based in Alexandra we are contracted to provide services throughout Central Otago and Wakatipu.

SF Central Otago is a branch of SF National which is our National Office based in Wellington. There are branches of SF throughout New Zealand.

SF Central's main services are fieldworker support provided to the family/whanau of people who are unwell and support and advocacy groups for people and their families. We also provide community education around mental health and have an extensive lending library which is easy to use. All our services are completely free and are funded by DHB's and other funding organisations.

In addition, as part of this website (funded by the Rural Innovations Grant) we are able to provide an online support forum for anyone wanting information/support in a confidential way. This is not a substitute for Mental Health Services and information about other services available in Central Otago and Wakatipu are also on this site.
