Fieldworker Support
Our service is flexible and responsive to individual needs which may range from one supportive phonecall to ongoing visits and education. We recognise that everyone is different and support individual family/whanau members, groups and employers.
Our fieldworker service provides:-
Support
The fieldworker is there to provide a listening ear, allow time to discuss issues and emotions and support family/whanau to develop strategies and plans for recovery.
Information
We provide resources on mental illness, medication, recovery, family rights, mental health law and legislation as well as providing information on other community organisations in the local area.
Education
The fieldworker can provide education on different types of mental illness as well as assisting family/whanau with problem solving and coping strategies.
Advocacy
The fieldworker liaises closely with mental health services and other organisations. The fieldworker can support family/whanau in meetings/appointments as well as supporting people to feel empowered to act on their own behalf.
